Safety & Security

White Settlement ISD continuously evaluates and implements safety measures to enhance security and provide the safest environment for our students, staff and families.

Police and security staff conduct regular perimeter and door checks to ensure that all school facilities are secure, Every facility is equipped with a doorbell intercom system with both audio and visual capability, ensuring that all campuses are fully secured during the school day.

WSISD uses Standard Response Protocol (SRP) based on four actions: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate and Shelter. SRP provides a common language for both schools and local law enforcement agencies. Click here for more details.

WSISD prioritizes funding school safety initiatives. These include but are not limited to: providing a Safety and Emergency Management Director to ensure the district's safety initiatives; upgrading and adding additional camera systems district-wide; and police training, gear, and vehicles.

The district takes a proactive approach to student safety by providing the support staff and programs necessary to support the mental wellness of all students. All schools use Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports to ensure all students are supported socially and behaviorally, and they teach the BEARS Matrix – Be Trustworthy, Empathetic, Accountable, Respectful, and Safe.
